Oliver James Cromer Jr.

Oliver James Cromer, 76, of Salem, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015. Jim was an exceptional man who excelled in all that he did: family, educator, avid trout fisherman. He served with honor and distinction in the Army 3rd Division in Germany during the Cold War '57-'59. He did not wish formal religious funeral services or visitation. However, in his own words, "I would like a gathering of family, friends, old colleagues, and students. I would like them to raise a glass of spirits and honor my soul as it departs for the next dimension." This gathering will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2015 from 2-5 PM at 4410 Harborwood Rd. Salem, Va. 24153.
