Norma Jean Sanford, 82, of Salem, Va. and formerly of Charleston, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.
She was born on October 15, 1932 in Duo, WV to the late William D. and Truma Zopp Hobbs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Campbell, and brother-in-laws, Dick Campbell and Dick Blankinship.
Norma was a GREAT advocate for the Head Injury Association. She retired after 41 years of faithful care to the patients she served as a registered nurse. Above all, she was a very loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her!
Family remaining to cherish her memory includes her husband, Charles (Rex) Sanford; sons, Charles Lynn Sanford and Thomas Rexelle Sanford; sister, Phyllis Blankinship; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to thank the CCU nursing staff at Lewis Gale Medical Center for the love and care given to Norma during her stay.
A memorial service to honor Normas life will be conducted on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Salem, Va.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
