Noah David Gray

Noah David Gray, 96, of Salem, VA passed away Monday, May 21, 2012. He was born February 8, 1916 in Salem a son of the late Bernard and Lillian Bower Gray. He was also preceded in death by five siblings. Mr. Gray was a retired Tile Mechanic and served during WWII in the 82nd Airborne receiving many medals for his faithful service. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Itlean Hinds Gray; sister-in-law, Ruby Gray; brother-in-law, Harvey Hinds and his wife, Sadie; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Sherwood Memorial Park with Rev. Roy Kanode officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1754, Salem, VA 24153. The Gray family is being served by John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem, VA 540-389-5441.
