Nighta-Leigh McClure, affectionately known as “Tuggy”, 80, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Born October 19, 1945, to the late Robert and Sarah Webb, she is also preceded in death by her son, Sean Mundy.
As many know, a large part of Tuggy’s life was music. She was a member of Cave Spring United Methodist Church's choir, as well as the Roanoke Valley Choral Society. She also performed in the annual Boar’s Head Christmas play at First Presbyterian Church where her love of Broadway musicals and opera were on display. Tuggy had a variety of interests including quilting, knitting, playing piano, British television shows and history, and answering the toughest Jeopardy questions (she would have made a great contestant!). For many years she was a devoted teacher, teaching the children’s choir at Cave Spring and preschool children at First Presbyterian.
Those remaining to cherish Tuggy’s memory are her daughter, Sarah Mundy and partner, Thomas Wingrove; grandson, Robert Mundy and his mother, Paula Jenielek; as well as many friends.
The family will welcome friends to gather for a memorial service on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., at Cave Spring United Methodist Church.
Tuggy’s family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Raleigh Court Health and Rehabilitation and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
