Nellie Pauline Hodges Strickler

Nellie Pat Strickler of Salem, VA passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7th, 2013 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Red Strickler and her first husband, James Ralph White; loving daughter, Jean White Thompson, sister Louise Harrison; brothers Harry, Frank, Leonard and James Lightning Hodges. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Gail White; granddaughter Elaine White; grandson, Barry White; grandson Brian Thompson and wife Michele; great granddaughter Quinn Thompson and great grandson, Nicholas Thompson, many wonderful cousins, nieces and nephews from the Hodges and White families. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Rev. Joe Copolo will officiate. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the funeral home.
