Nelda H. Hedge, 91, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Nelda was born on December 29, 1921. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and was the owner of Hedge Metal Company. Preceding her in death were her parents, Oscar Hamilton and Mae Hamilton Musselman; husband, Roy Hedge, Jr.; daughter, Joy Hedge Beckner; brother, Johnny Hamilton; and sisters, Dolly Roop, Margaret Wise, and Carrie Scott. Her surviving family includes her son, Dallas G. Hedge, Sr. and wife, Ruth; sister, Opal Dyer and husband, Marvin; grandchildren, Daryl Beckner and wife, Marlene, Glen Hedge and wife, Carmen, and Dwayne Hedge; great-grandchildren, Darren Beckner and wife, Lauren, Emily Beckner and fianc, Jacob Jackson, and Liz Beckner; great-great-granddaughters, Savannah Beckner and Brooklyn Beckner; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Julia and Wayne Clark; and Dallass little black dachshund, Baby. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke. The Rev.
