Nancy Pickle Via

Nancy Carol Pickle Via, 68, of Salem, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 4, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry Via; parents, Charles W. Pickle, Sr. and Rebecca Epperly Pickle; brother, Charles W. Pickle, Jr.; and beloved dog, Katie. Nancy is survived by her loving and devoted family including her brother, Robert W. Pickle (Bob) and wife, Susan; sister-in-law, Debbie Denison; nieces, Stephanie DeHart and husband, Wayne, Kristie Myers and husband, Marshall, and Jennifer Loesel and husband, Laurence; and great-nieces and great-nephew, Kayla and Konner Myers, and Ellie and Luke Loesel. Nancy had a passion for caring about her family and friends which led her to current employment with Home Instead Senior Care. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Roanoke with the Rev. Pete Bain officiating. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions in Nancys memory may be made to Roanoke Area Ministries at 824 Campbell Avenue in Roanoke, VA 24016.
