Nancy Lee Shank, age 90, of Salem, VA, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 19, 2026. Nancy was born on May 19, 1935, to the late Melvin and Bruce Atkinson Stewart. She grew up in Shawsville, Va., and graduated from Shawsville High School. After graduating from high school, Nancy met and married the late Donald Shank. Later, Nancy and her husband, "Don," along with their children, Wayne and Margaret, moved to West Salem, VA. Nancy worked at Rose Furniture for many years. She loved her vegetable and flower garden. She was a very kind and loving lady and will be missed by her family. Nancy attended Valley Word Church and was a true Christian who loved serving God and Jesus.

Left to cherish Nancy's memory include her son-in-law, Bill Crowder, who was her caregiver at home for many years; nieces, Dottie Helton of Winston-Salem, NC, and Shirley Smith and husband, Willie of Mocksville, NC; great-nephew, William Standard of Winston-Salem, NC.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be announced at a later date.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Gentle Shepherd Hospice of Roanoke, special caregiver Pam Hinkle, and Sarah Stump, R.N., for the kindness and compassion shown to Nancy.
