Nancy Ellen Mcmanaway

Nancy Ellen McManaway, 76, of Salem, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home Wednesday morning, November 11, 2015. She loved going to the beach, being with her friends and family, celebrating Christmas, shopping, and animals. Nancy was the daughter of the late Harry Boaz Mac McManaway and Carma McManaway Carter and was preceded in death by her cousin Doris Jones Manning. She is survived by her sister, Beth Sample; niece, Carma Sample; her beloved fur-baby, Maggie; cousin, Carole Jean Nunnally; and many other cousins. Visitation with the family will be in the Chapel at John M. Oakey & Son, Salem, on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The service will then begin at 2 p.m. and be officiated by Charles Gwaltney. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Salem Museum & Historical Society or to Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
