Myrtle "Jennifer" Andre (Witherow) Garvey

Myrtle "Jennifer" Andre Witherow Garvey passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 83. Her husband, Edward F. Garvey, passed away on July 18, 2025, at the age of 90. They were married for 44 years.

Jennifer is predeceased by her parents, George Witherow and Elizabeth Price; her siblings, Charles Witherow, Anna Goetschius, and Dorothy Smith.

Jennifer is survived by her sister, Jean Romero; and by her many loving nieces and nephews.

Jennifer is survived by her sons: James Rockwell, Jr., of Florida, and Gary Rockwell, and his wife, Kathleen, of Michigan. She is also survived by her stepdaughters, Deborah Batchelor, and her husband, Michael, of South Carolina, and Karen Ughetta and her husband, Raoul, of Virginia.

Jennifer was blessed with two grandsons: John Rockwell and his wife, Nicole VanNess, and Daniel Rockwell and his wife, Nicole Stephenson. As well as four step-grandchildren: Christopher Moraski, and his partner Jessica Graves, Kevin Batchelor, and his partner, Nacha Belcher, Ashley Ughetta Russ, and her husband, Erik Russ, and James G. Batchelor (deceased)

Jennifer has three great-grandchildren: Frances, Benjamin, and Jack Rockwell. She also has eight step-great-grandchildren: Brooklyn and Peyton Moraski, Raelyn and Olin Russ, and Jacob, Mari, Aiden, and Ava Belcher.

Jennifer loved being a homemaker. She loved family, crafts, cooking, shopping, baking, decorating, and she loved parties and entertaining. She loved visiting family and enjoyed all holidays, especially Christmas. She made every place she lived in a beautiful home.

A memorial service for both Jennifer and Edward Garvey will be held on Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, on 314 Turner Road in Salem, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
