Morrish Eldon Agee, 76, of Salem, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 3, 2013.
He was born in Floyd County, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Agee and Lola Goad Agee. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sylvia Kimble Agee; a son Mark Agee and his wife Libby; daughter Leigh Ann Agee Mitchell and her husband Mike; granddaughters, Leslie and Mary Agee, and a brother, Vernon Agee.
Morrish grew up in Meadows of Dan, VA and had been a Salem area resident since 1961. He retired from Rowe Furniture following 38 years of service and was also a locksmith by trade, which he continued to do well into retirement. He was an antique car enthusiast and a life long follower of Wood Brothers Racing, based in Stuart, VA. A great lover of music, particularly old-time, he played the guitar and harmonica in several groups throughout his lifetime.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7PM, Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem, with services beginning at 7PM. The Rev. Junior Westmoreland will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 1PM, Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Meadows of Dan Baptist Church Cemetery, 2511 Jeb Stuart Hwy. Meadows of Dan, VA.
