Minor Oakey Wirt

Minor Oakey Wirt, 77, of Salem, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013. He was born on January 25, 1936 in Salem to the late Oakey McCoy and Diana Gallion Wirt. Minor was a stone layer by trade, and greatly enjoyed bowling and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Wirt; and a sister, Margie Hartberger. Family left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Charlotte Phoenix and husband Paul, and Judy Stump and husband Danny; several nieces and nephews, and many special friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son funeral home in Salem. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Dave Vanderpool officiating.
