Minnie Ethel Scott

Minnie Ethel Scott, 89, of Salem, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013. She was retired from the VA Regional Office in Roanoke and was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. Preceding her in death was her father, Homer Walter Scott; mother, Laura Nolen Scott; sister, Ada Scott; and brothers, Roy Scott, James Scott, Ralph Scott, and Fred Scott. Minnie has one niece surviving, Sandra Scott Ekeson and husband, Joseph. A period of visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 1 to 4 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will then be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the funeral homes chapel. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. Eric Evans, Senior Minister of the Salem Church of Christ will officiate. Special thanks to Florence Collins, Kay Hall, Tessie Boyd, Ruth Wade, and numerous friends for being there for Minnie.
