Mildred Alice Jones

Mildred Jones, 87 of Salem, Va, was called home on Friday, October 17, 2025.

She lived her life with a radiant smile, a kind heart, and a spirit that touched everyone she met. A devoted woman of great faith, Mildred, was the kind of person who brought light and laughter wherever she went. She was a great cook and famous for her German Chocolate Cake. She had a gift for making others feel seen and valued – her warmth and genuine nature left lasting impressions on all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Thomas Mabry and Agnes Tickle Mabry; husband, Charles "Charlie" Jones, Sr.; her siblings, Louise Switzer, Virginia "Jenny" Epperly, Margie Cronk, Tommy Mabry, Otis Mabry, Doug Mabry, and Anna Mary McPeak; in-laws, Annie Gordon, Sam Jones, and Marie Hall.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Susan Moore (Chuck), Charlie "Jr" Jones, Vicki Jones, and David Jones; grandchildren, Lisa Vaughan, Scott Hickson, Ashley Moore, Charli Jones, Dakota Jones, Eli Moore; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister-in-law, Doris West.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Cedar Law Memorial Park in Roanoke, Va.
