Mildred Agnes Carroll

Mildred Agnes Carroll, 82, of Salem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at home with her husband and family by her side. She was born in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Nestor and Lucy Richardson Beach and had been an area resident all of her life. She was employed as a circuit inspector for many years at General Electric prior to retiring and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Mildred was a loving and giving person, who enjoyed every opportunity to care for others. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kathryn W. Carroll, two sisters, and an infant brother. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 62 years, William L. Carroll; two sons, William B. Billy Carroll and wife Debbie, and James W. Jimmy Carroll; a daughter, Kathy C. Eanes and husband Greg; a brother, Corbin Beach; four grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Salem Baptist Church. The Rev. Everett Kier will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
