Mida Collen Dooley

Mida Colleen Robertson Dooley, 82, of Salem, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. She was born in Pulaski, a daughter of the late Frank E. and Eliza Jane Robertson and had been an area resident all of her life. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed fishing, was an avid New York Yankees fan, and most of all enjoyed doting on her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marshall Dooley, Jr.; a daughter, Patty Craft; her son, Anthony Dooley, Sr.; two grandsons, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Trudy Blankenship and her husband Paul, and Donna Parks and her husband Matthew. She is also survived by a brother, Jake Robertson and wife Edna; a sister, Annie Mae Horton; 12 grandchildren, Melissa, Angel, Jennifer, Sarah, Jim P., Jim B., Tina, Marshall, Sandy, Sissy, Buddy and Joe, 25 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Friday, March 18, 2016 at the Chapel of John M. Oaky & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Thursday (this evening) March 17, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in her honor be made to the charity of the donors choice.
