Michael Ward Spencer

Michael Ward Spencer, 56, of Salem, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016. He was born in Roanoke, a son of the late Robert W. Spencer, Jr. and Dorothy Mays Spencer and had been an area resident all of his life. Michael was employed for many years at US Foods and enjoyed camping, fishing, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Barbara Mills Spencer; a son, Justin Spencer; daughter, Sheena Spencer and her fianc, Cory Spradlin; a grandson, Dylan Michael Spradlin; his sister, Rhonda Willis and her husband Adron, as well as several loved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Monday, February 22, 2016 at the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, in Salem. Pastor Don Dyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Michaels name may be made to the American Cancer Society 3840 Electric Rd.
