Michael Douglas Mathena

Michael Douglas Mathena, 58, passed away on August 31, 2021 peacefully with his family by his side. Mike was born on January 21, 1963 in Roanoke, VA to Maxine and Mike Mathena. He was devoted to his Granny, Francis Mathena and Grandad, Ray Mathena. Mike was a kind man who never met a stranger. He loved music and playing the guitar and fishing. Most of all he loved his daughter, Shyanne Francis Mathena. She is his pride and joy and his greatest gift in this life. He leaves behind his mother, Maxine (Wayne) Weeks; his father, Mike (Becky) Mathena; his sister, Stephanie "Sissy" (Drew) Taliaferro and his nephew, Peyton. He has a best friend, Susan Shirley, godmother to his daughter, Shyanne. Mike also has many aunts uncles and cousins who will miss him dearly.
