Merdith Ernest Ralston

Merdith E. (Mert) Ralston, 71, of Salem, VA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 16, 2017. He was born June 28, 1945 in Mustoe, VA, son of the late Louie and Mazie Roberson Ralston. He was also preceded in death by an infant twin sister, Mary Ann; infant sister, Hollis Mae; brother, Charles; and a nephew, Shaun. Mert was a member of Salem Baptist Church and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Rose Marie Ralston; sister, Lois Hevener and her son, Jerry and wife, Debbie; nephews, Jeremy, Mike and Ronnie; nieces, Sherry and Erin; and many other loved relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Everett Kier and Rev. Tom Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.First Visitation
