Matthew Scott Mckee

Matthew Scott McKee, 35, of Danville, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 22, 2021. He was born on Saturday, February 22, 1986, to Annette Puccio and the late Jeffery S. McKee. Matthew was a simple man, but never without a smile. He had many interests; camping, bowling, eating a good meal, The Power Rangers, and the Mr. Rogers show just to name a few. Football was a staple for Matthew, his favorite team of course was the Green Bay Packers. Most of all he just loved being with his family. He touched every heart that he met; most leave a few stories for others to share after theyve gone, Matthew leaves thousands. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Al and Barbara McKee; maternal grandfather, Anthony Puccio; and bonus grandmother, Betty Beard. In addition to his mom, Annette, left to cherish his memory include his bonus mom, Karen Lee Shupe; sisters, Patricia McKee Campbell and husband, Taylor, and Terri Kanode and husband, Joel; brothers, Josh Shupe and Jacob Shupe; maternal grandparents, Maxine Huhs and husband John David; uncle, Michael Puccio; aunt, Kay Fairchild; special friends, Mike Robinson and his family, and Mark Hughes; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive. A celebration of Matthews life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the John M, Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, VA, with Rev. Roy Kanode officiating. Friends may visit with the family to share a story or memory of Matthew from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
