Mary Louise Young

Mary Louise Lundy Young, 84, of Salem, passed thru the Heavenly Gates on Monday, July 4, 2016. She was born in Grafton, WV, a daughter of the late Edwin and Mary Lundy and had been an area resident most of her life. She enjoyed cooking and cherished the dinners and times she spent with her family. Louise had a smile for everyone, never met a stranger and had a huge heart full of love. She touched many lives and was an unforgettable person, and will be tremendously missed by all of those she touched. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Brubber Young, and a brother, Buck Lundy. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 63 years, Donald Eugene Young; two sons, Eugene Young and wife Debbie; Steve Young and wife Donna; a daughter, Vickie Richmond and husband John; two sisters, Thelma Harris, and Norma Webb and husband Roger; a brother, Donnie Lundy; daughter-in-law, Debbie Doss Young; numerous nieces and nephews, as well other family members and friends. Louise was blessed with six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. Her most precious blessing was the time and love she shared with her special grandson, Cody Young, who was the love of her life. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Heaven has gained a very special angel that we will miss dearly. Funeral services will be held at 1PM, Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Chapel of John M. Oakey & Son funeral Home, Salem. The Rev. Matt King will officiate. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
