Mary Janice Hanks

Mary Janice Hanks, of Salem, VA, passed away on November 28, 2021, at the age of 85. Although her failing heart and memory loss took her away from this world, she left with us sweet memories and a lasting foot forever engraved on the hearts of those she loved most. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Audrey Spence Hanks and Alva Jerome Hanks, Sr.; sister, JoAnne Woodward of West Liberty, KY, and brother, Jerry Hanks of Roanoke. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Tracey Harrison and husband, James, of Salem, and Leslie Graboyes and husband, Travis, of Fincastle; granddaughters, Andrea Akers, of Charlottesville, and Ashley Akers Grim and husband, Martin of Salem; precious great-grandson, Gavin Lee Grim, of Salem; brothers, Mike Hanks and Debbie Odell, of Hardy and Danny Hanks and wife, Veronica, of Myrtle Beach, SC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
