Mary Clara Faron

Mary C. Faron, 81, of Salem, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015. Mary was born in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred Droppleman and had been a Roanoke Valley area resident since 1961. She worked as a Laboratory Technician at several area hospitals and was a member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Faron, who died in 2004. She is survived by a daughter, Deborah Ann Faron; two sons, Mark Faron and wife Kathleen, and David Faron and wife Mitzi; a sister, Elizabeth Parker and her husband Steven; brother, Robert Droppleman and wife Bethany; three grandchildren, Christopher Faron and wife Brittaney, Elizabeth Slabaugh and husband Joshua, and Thomas Faron; two great-grandchildren, Alexa and Tara Slabaugh, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, whom she loved very much. A funeral mass will be held at 3PM, Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church. Rev. Msgr. Joseph P. Lehman will officiate. Burial at St. Andrews Diocesan Cemetery will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
