Mary Reid Argabright

Mary Reid Argabright, 92, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 3, 2023. She was born on Monday, September 22, 1930, in Alvarado, Va. She was a very caring person throughout her life, enjoyed talking to people, and always gave everyone she met a good laugh. She loved cooking, and anything having to do with Christmas. Preceding her in death were her parents, Albert and Maud Scott Reid; husband, Lynwood Argabright; daughter, Aloma A. Meador; grandson, Jason Meador; and special friend, Travis Whatley. Her surviving family includes her daughter, Belinda "Bendy" A. Brooks; daughter-in-law, Laura K. Meador; great-granddaughters, Haley Nicholson and Caroline Meador; sister-in-law, Eunice, and husband, Dickie Call; and nieces and nephew, Teresa, Wayne, Debora, Renee, and Yvonne. Special thanks are expressed to her caretakers, Pat, Peggy, Jenny, Ashley, Anthony, and Robin, as well as Good Samaritan Hospice. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023, in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem, Va. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Ricky Francisco officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
