Martha Gayle Eller Wilson went to her eternal rest on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.
She was born on Friday, February 10, 1950, to Lowell and Mildred Eller in Roanoke, Va.
Marty graduated from Bridgewater College with a Bachelors Degree in English and Elementary Education. She taught for several years in the Harrisonburg area before moving to Knoxville, Tenn., where her careers included education, business administration, and Workshop Leader & Event Planner. Her marriage to Rev. Barclay Wilson took her to Florida where she worked with him in a counseling and healing ministry. Moving back to Roanoke, Va., her careers included Hospice & Senior Caregiver and lately, she renewed being a Mary Kay Cosmetic Consultant. Having grown up in the Church of the Brethren, her faith in God was a large part of her life. Marty was a founding member of The Dwelling Place church in South Roanoke.
Marty loved the outdoors and nature; she was an avid birdwatcher and lover of wildflowers. She fed the birds religiously. She loved helping people - especially the lost, the lonely, and the aging. Her sense of comfort and peace made many people happy. She will be missed by many.
In addition to her husband, Rev. Wilson, Marty was predeceased by her father, Lowell Eller; her mother, Mildred Eller; and her sister, Nancy Kathryn Eller.
