Martha Jean Moran

Martha Jean (Smith) Moran, 87, of Salem, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Boyce J. and Essie T. Smith. She is survived by her husband, Rabie L. Moran, Jr.; son, Ronald Moran and wife, Trina; daughter, Malinda Rivers and husband, Walt; grandchildren, Travis Rivers and wife, Cheryl, Devin Rivers, and Jill Moran; great-grandchild, Preston Rivers; and sister, Phyllis Goodykoontz. The family will be receiving friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home. A service praising God for the gift of life and the gift of eternal life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at the funeral home. An interment will follow at Church Hill Cemetery in Salem, VA. The family would like to give a special thanks to Martha's caregivers, Sherri Hogge and Jacque Malone, for their continuous dedication.
