Martha O'Connor Hardy

Our precious mother, Martha OConnor Hardy, 72 of Roanoke, VA passed on to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, November 3, 2011. She was born April 22, 1939 in Welch, WV daughter of the late Ralph and Minnie Pollard OConnor. Left to cherish her memory, sons, Robert Wofford, Sr. and wife, Karen, Mark Wofford and wife, Shaneque; daughters, Tracey Patram and Jennifer Wofford of Charleston, SC; one precious surviving sister, Margaret Cook and husband, Ben; fifteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; two great uncles; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Monday, November 7, 2011 at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Pastor Gary Butcher and Pastor Burrell Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the in ladies who provided in home care to Mrs. Hardy and special thanks to Dr. Jeffrey Todd and Dr. Richard Butler, Laurie Bruggermann, Gentle Shepherd Hospice and the staff of Avante Nursing Home for their loving care given to mom. 540-389-5441
