Mark Leftwich 52, of New Castle passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. He was born in Bedford County to the late Clyde and Francis Leftwich. Mark proudly served his country as a soldier in the U.S. Army. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, animals, kids, and was a well known line dancer. Mark was self employed as a construction worker and served many years on the Reed Mountain Fire Department. In addition to Marks parents he is preceded in death by his four children, Mark Leftwich Jr., Clyde Leftwich, Patrick Leftwich, and Nancy Leftwich. He is survived by his brothers, Collins Leftwich and his wife Faye, Rocky Lang and his wife Mary, James Leftwich and his wife Becky; his sisters, Kennie Dickson, Phyllis Lang, Cindi Brooks and her husband Glen, and Marilyn Eaton and her husband Jeff; and a special friend Matt Owens. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and other family, along with his special pet Tiffy who was always by his side. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. in the Chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home. Pastor Jay Law and Chaplain Mark Flores will officiate. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the start of the service.
