Marion W. Barger
Marion Wilson Barger, 88, of Salem, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011.
She was born in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Robert and Sarah Martin Wilson. She graduated From Jefferson High School, Class of 1940 and was a member of Phi Chi Psi Sorority, which is still going strong after 70 years, and was a member of Salem Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Campbell Barger and a son, William Frederick Barger.
She is survived by a son, Thomas Barger of Santa Monica, CA; grandson, David Barger of Durango, CO; granddaughter, Marissa Barger of Morehead City, NC; beloved uncle, Kent Martin of Roanoke; cousin Elizabeth Chilman of Roanoke, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM, Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Salem Presbyterian Church. The Revs. Will Robinson and Janet Chisom will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Presbyterian Church, 41 East Main St. Salem, VA 24153.
