Margie Lynn Potter

Margie Lynn Potter, 64, of Salem, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2014. She was born on October 4, 1949 in Sweet Springs, WV to the late Charles Elmer Vass, Jr and Margie Ruth Kessinger Vass. Margie was employed at Verizon Communications, where she had 21 years of faithful service. Margie will be remembered as being very devoted and dedicated to her family. She loved to read, liked music and adored her dogs. She greatly enjoyed the beach and loved climbing the Peaks of Otter with her family. Family left to cherish Margies memory include her loving husband of 27 years, James C. Potter; son, James David Hayslett and fianc Angela I. Flannery; daughter, Kim C. Gajan and husband Raymond J. Gajan III; grandchildren, RJ Gajan and Audrey Ruth Gajan; and siblings, Joy Tingler, C.E Vass, and Patricia Hoke. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son funeral home in Salem. A service and interment will be private.
