Margaret P. Stone

Margaret P. Stone, 102 , of Salem, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010. She was the oldest living member of Salem Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas B. Stone. She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Betty Mowbray and husband, Guy, of Salem; nephew, Pete Stone and wife, Anne, of North Wilkesboro, NC; special friends, Lamar and Lucy Metts of Tampa Florida; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff and nurses at the Joseph C. Thomas Assisted Living, the Richfield Recovery and Care Center 4th floor; and Southern Care Hospice. A period of visitation will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem. The Rev. Everett Kier will officiate.
