Margaret Elizabeth Scruggs

Margaret Elizabeth Rogers Scruggs, 75, of Roanoke, passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Wilton and Mary Elizabeth Sigmon; husbands, Jessie Arnold Rogers and William H. Scruggs; and son, Jimmy Arnold Rogers. Her surviving family includes her sons, David Rogers and fiance, Alice Duff, and Vincent Rogers; sister, Violet Stanley; grandson, Lynwood Vincent Rogers II; and close friend, Jim Boone. The family expresses a sincere thanks to the nurses and doctors of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospitals 8 South for their wonderful care and support. A period of visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will then be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the funeral homes chapel with interment following at Sherwood Memorial Park. The Rev. Ernest Woods will officiate.
