On the morning of March 17, 2019, Margaret Ann Meg Scott of Salem, VA went to be with Jesus. After a courageous 22-year battle with brain cancer, she passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was 49 years old. Meg was born to Charles and Nancy (Harteis) Itle on November 29, 1969 in Bellefonte, PA. She graduated in 1988 from Trinity High School (Shiremanstown, PA) and in 1992 from Penn State University, with a degree in Agricultural Science. Her professional career lead her to work as a Flock Supervisor for Frank Purdue, Inc., a Nutrient Management Specialist for the Maryland Dept. of Agriculture, and a Natural Resources Specialist for the National Resource and Conservation Service. In the year 2000 she married and began a family that bore her four precious children: Ben, Jena, Katie, and Grace. Meg was an adventurous, generous, and, above all, deeply spiritual person. Growing up, she was happiest riding and caring for her horses. Her love and respect for animals meant that she had many four-legged friends, including the current family dogs, Josie and Jarvis. In college she showed farm animals as a member of Penn State Dairy Science and the Block & Bridle Club. She also spent one summer working as the head wrangler on a Colorado dude ranch. In 1993 her adventurous spirit took her to Norway, where she participated in the International Four-H Youth Exchange Program (IFYE), spending 6 months as a cultural ambassador. Megs external beauty was surpassed only by the size of her generous heart. She had a special knack for touching peoples lives, often showing consideration for friends and strangers in the most subtle and unexpected ways. It was not uncommon for Meg to offer a ride to a stranger because she saw it was just too cold or too far for someone to be out walking. She never missed a chance to volunteer or help a member in her church community, Calvary Chapel Roanoke. Meg was intentionally humble in her acts of kindness because, as she would say, all the glory belongs to God. Meg is preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis J. and Mildred C. (Sutton) Itle, Lawrence A. and Ruth M. (Bodenschatz) Harteis, her infant brother, James Jimmy Itle, and infant daughter, Grace Elizabeth Scott. Meg is survived by her three children, Benjamin C., Jenalyn C., and Katelin J. Scott; her childrens father, Michael C. Scott; parents, Charles A. Itle and Nancy C. (Harteis) Itle; siblings, Christine A. Repetz and husband John, Carol L. Brownawell and husband Christopher, Thomas A. Itle, Jeffrey C. Itle and wife Maria; stepmother, Elizabeth H.
