Margaret Stuart Palmer

Margaret (Peggy Ann) Stuart Palmer, 72, of Elliston, went home to be with her husband, Sherman, on Wednesday, August 10, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Reginald and Alice Pauline Smith Stuart, her husband, Sherman Eugene Palmer; and several aunts and uncles. Margaret attended church at the Jane Morgan Harris Chapel at Richfield Recovery and Care Center. She was a talented artist and gifted seamstress. Family left to cherish her memory include her brothers, Thomas Stuart and wife Barbara and Darrel Stuart and wife Kim; sister, Nellie Maxey and husband James; step-mother, Jessie Stuart; special nephew who was like a grandson, Reggy Stuart and wife Stephanie; special great-niece, Anastasia Stuart; special friends, Ellen Poff, Noah Poff, and Tabby Poff; numerous nieces, nephews; and many friends and neighbors in Elliston. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 6 until 8 pm at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service to honor Margarets life will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brad Turner officiating.
