Margaret Maggie Ann Mays Annarino, 75, of Salem, passed away on Monday, October 5 at Carilion Hospital in Roanoke.
As a wife, mother, and sister, Maggie loved her family very much. She was a true friend to
many, as well as a wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Maggie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Joe Annarino, Jr. She is survived by her son,
Jaison Annarino, of Roanoke, and her daughter Becky Annarino Clark (Tony), of Salem, who are so
proud of her fight and determination.
All those who knew her know Maggie befriended and respected the animal soul. At any given time,
there would be a menagerie of pets in her care. From rabbits to birds and all those in between, she had
a heart for her four-legged or two-winged children.
She recognized and honored the spirit within the special needs and the aged. Maggie had a strong sense of justice, and she committed herself to instilling the virtues of honesty, manners, courtesy, and the knowledge of right or wrong in her children. And among her unlimited love for family, friends, and animals, there is also thisshe made the best chili everits not even open for discussion.
A faithful Christian, Maggie is at peace with the Lord and been given the eternal life she has been
promised. While we will miss her smile, kind ways, and family love, we await the time when we will see
her againin a world far better than anything we can imagine.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6PM, Friday, October 9, 2020 at the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son, Salem, with Pastor Daniel Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 5PM at the funeral home.
