Marcella Edna Kilby

Marcella E. Kilby (Marcy), 94, of Salem, fulfilled her mission on earth and went home with Jesus, her King, on Thursday, October 29, 2015. Marcella was born on the Whitetop Mountain to Courtney A. Osborne and Goldia Farmer Osborne on Sunday, May 22, 1921. She married Nelson James Kilby, Jr. on Saturday, August 28, 1937. They raised 8 children together and claim 59 descendants. Nelson (Jim), her beloved husband, preceded her in death in 1975. Marcella's greatest joy was walking with the Lord and sharing her faith with others. She took care of many children and treasured each child's eternal soul. A period of visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the Haw Orchard Baptist Church on Mt. Rogers with the Rev. Ben Lockhart officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Haw Orchard Cemetery. The Kilby family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, 540-389-5441.First Visitation
