Mabel Laprad Molly Conner, 99 of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2011. She was born on March 16, 1912 in Roanoke to the late George and Nannie Boothe Laprad. Ms. Conner will be remembered for her dedication to the Little Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Elliston, as well as her cooking, as she loved to cook for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hancil P. Conner; son, Ray Preston Conner, Sr.; two brothers, and 12 sisters. She is survived by her son Roger Wayne, and Deborah Conner; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Irene Thompson of Christiansburg. The family wishes to offer a special thanks to Ortha Gay Hundley, & Ruby Dyer for their loving kindness over the years for Ms. Conner. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 29, 2011 from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home.
