Lynwood Lennie Epperly, 84, of Salem, VA, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022. He was born on Saturday, November 26, 1938, to the late Walter B. Epperly and Helen Helms Epperly. Lennie loved football from a young age. He played for Andrew Lewis High School and later coached for the Parks and Recreation youth league. He also loved and enjoyed the game of golf, bowling, and horseshoes. He was a member of the Penguin Club, The Dudes, and Salem Rec Umpire League. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Goodman Epperly; brothers, Junior Epperly, Clyde Epperly, Ed Epperly, Wiley Epperly, Calvin Epperly; Sisters-in-law, Sheila Poff, Donna Zirkle; Brothers-in-law, Gary Poff, Nick Goodman. He is survived by his daughters, Leslie Epperly Saul, and Lisa Epperly Kormann; grandchildren, Landon Saul, Logan Saul, Joseph Kormann IV, and Caroline Kormann; Great-grandchildren, Lucy Jo Kormann, Eleanor Rose Kormann, Bella Kormann, Bryson Kormann, Maelynn Kormann, Jeremiah Kormann, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law; Jan and David Heath; brother-in-law, John Zirkle; many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. The family wishes to thank the Staff at Friendship North for the great care given to Lennie.
