Lynwood Argabright, 83, of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was born on April 28, 1929 in Roanoke, Virginia to the late Alonza Ciley and Louella Palmer Argabright. While in the Army, Lynwood proudly served his country in Korea. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a good man. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret Conner and her husband James, and Lila Mae Ratcliff; and brother-in-law, Howard C. Huffman. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Mary Argabright; daughters, Aloma Lyn Meador and her husband Kenneth, and Belinda (Bendy) Brooks; sisters, Blanche Huffman, and Eunice Call and her husband Richard; grandson, Jason Lyn Meador and his wife Laura; step-grandchildren, Kenny Meador and his wife Susie, Shirley (Sherrie) Fisher, and Bill Fisher; great-granddaughters, Hailey Sierra Meador, and Brittany (Niki) Nicole Fisher; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to praise the exceptional care given to Lynwood at the VA Hospital and the Virginia Veterans Care Center. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son funeral home in Salem. A private family service will be held.
