Louise Christine Eanes Hall Hurt, 85, of Salem, went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, December 15, 2012. She was the youngest of 13 children and retired from General Electric in 1988 after over 30 years of service. Preceding her in death were her parents; her childrens father, Raymond Lee Hall, Jr.; second husband, James Edwin Hurt, Sr.; grandson, Kevin Wayne Butler; sons-in-law, John Butler, J.D. Neighbors, and Paul Stragand; and 11 brothers and sisters. Her surviving family includes her daughters, Sandra Butler, Betty Stragand, Patricia Tinsley, Carol Staples and husband, Howard, and Bonnie Neighbors; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Rebecca Ferguson. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 17, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the First Evangelical Methodist Church in Salem. Interment will follow at Fair View Cemetery in Roanoke. Rev. Brian Gordon will officiate. The family extends a special thanks to Ruth Hall, Wendy Hall, and Christie Robertson for their wonderful care over the last three months.
