Louella Dodd Ramsey

Louella Ludwick Dodd Ramsey, 82, of Salem, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011. She was born in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Otha W. Ludwick and Ocie Jones Ludwick and had been an area resident all of her life. She was employed for many years at Southeastern Skate Supply prior to retiring, enjoyed traveling, was a member of the Salem Senior Center, Salem YMCA, and was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Norman Dodd and William Ramsey. She is survived by three sons, James L. Dodd and his wife Diane; Charles A. Dodd and his wife Sandra; Ernest L. Dodd and his wife Sara; a sister, Geraldine Noftsinger and her husband Harold; seven grandchildren, Derek Dodd, Carli Dodd, Christy Gibson, Jennifer Greer, Ashley Dooley, Ryan Dodd and Jacob Dodd. A graveside service will be held at 10AM, Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Sherwood Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service at 11AM at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Roanoke. Dr. John R. Furman will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8PM, Monday at John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2216 Peters Creek Rd.
