Lois Ellen Parker Kiser, 88, of Virginia and West Virginia, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Lois was born on Tuesday, April 5, 1938, in Elkhorn, West Virginia, to the late Ethel Marie Lawson and Garnet Mitchem. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sylvia Hooven and Frank Lawson; sister, Ethel Pauline Yates Herndon; and brother, David Cecil Yates.
Lois was the most beautiful person the world was blessed to know. She loved the Lord, her family, and her community selflessly. Lois was a devoted member of Roxboro Church of God and her strong faith was the foundation for everything she did. Lois helped plant seven churches in Virginia and was a founder of God's Lighthouse of Prayer. She was a licensed minister who preached for 55 years. Lois also made an impact as a tent evangelist. Her life was dedicated to ministry in many ways, and she was a true humanitarian. Lois showed the love of God to her grandchildren, prisons, nursing homes and more. She was a widow of war veterans and loved her family deeply. She fulfilled her roles as a wife, mother and grandmother with dedication, faith, and love, supporting those she loved above all else. Her beloved family, friends, and the many people she touched in her life will miss her dearly.
Left to cherish Lois's memory are her children, David Ransom Sexton and daughter-in-love, Kimberly, Mark Clayton Sexton, James Wayne Sexton and Ralph L. Parker, Jr.; siblings, Rodger Yates and Earl Jackson Yates; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be held to honor Lois's memory on at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Celebration Church of God, 4429 Buck Mountain Rd. in Roanoke, Va., with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. Superintendent George Bond of Church of God in Christ and Rev. Andrew Draughn of Wabun Revival Center, will officiate.
Lois's family would like to extend their gratitude to the host pastor, Sam Belisle of Celebration Church of God, for his care and accommodation during this difficult time.
