Lois Ann Johnson

Lois Ann Price Johnson, 77, of Salem, but formerly of Floyd, Virginia, peacefully passed on, on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Born on October 1, 1946, to the late Richard Irvin and Eddie Mae Price, she is also preceded in death by her grandparents, Isayer Matthew,Virgina Price and Fannie Mae Price; brothers, Richard Irvin Price and Clinton Levi Price, as well as a sister, Deborah Faye Price Mucker. Lois, a Floyd County country girl met and fell in love with Tyrone, a Roanoke city boy and for 56 years, she was a loving and devoted wife to him. Together, they raised five sons, of whom she was so very proud. Her faith was very important to her as she was a devoted and faithful Jehovahs Witness. Home and family meant the world to her, and she took great pride in decorating her home and making it warm and welcoming. Always a Hokie, she cheered loud and proud for Virginia Tech, no matter the season. Above all, she adored her family and was a doting wife, mother, and grandmother. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Tyrone Johnson; sons, Rodney Johnson and his wife, Cheryl, Lou Johnson, Kevin Johnson and wife, Gina, Tony Johnson and wife, Coleen, and Denny Johnson and wife, Rachel; grandchildren, Jasmine Milligan, Lena and Chanell Johnson, Taylor, Jordan and Jada Johnson, Darrian, Mariska, Kadaysha and Cashdon Johnson, and Trinity and Daniel Hale; great-grandchildren, Love, Kendrick, Tru and Daisy; sister, Sylvia M. Price Martin, as well as in-laws, Beverly Johnson, Paul Johnson and wife, Ann, and Clydedine Patterson and husband, Raymond. A host of cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the Upper Parlor of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem. Services will held privately with Elder Archie Montgomery officiating. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Lois best friend, Claudia Brock for loving her as a sister of the heart, as well as to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, especially nurses Victoria Adkins and Connie Kidd, for the compassionate care given to both Lois and their family during this most difficult time.
