Linda Evangelia Haffley, 59, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. She was a member of Salem Wesleyan Church, and an active volunteer in the community. She was proud of her Greek heritage, and had a passion for cooking and baking. She was the best life partner to her husband of 38 years, was a devoted mother and friend, and had a kindred spirit that reflected her joy of life. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Laridis. Her surviving family includes her mother, Christine Laridis; husband, Carl E. Haffley; children, Erica Snead and husband, Robert, Laura Elizabeth Haffley, and Brandon Haffley; siblings, George Laridis and Elaine Laridis; and granddaughters, Allison White and Emma Snead. The family extends a special thanks to friends near and far who have both touched and been touched by Lindas life. A period of visitation will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 11 a.m., also in the chapel with Rev. Ken Dupin officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lindas name to the Childrens Advocacy Center at 541 Luck Avenue Suite 308 in Roanoke, VA 24016.
