Linda Ruth Gladden

Linda Ruth Gladden, 68, of Salem, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. She drove a school bus for over 15 years throughout the Roanoke Valley. Her church membership was held at Edgewood Christian Church in Roanoke. She loved her cat, Felix. Linda was a beloved mother and grandmother. Preceding her in death were her parents, Lee and Rachel Akers; and siblings, Carolyn Booth and David Akers. Her surviving family includes her children, Manny Gladden and wife, Michelle; grandchild, Alyssa Marrin; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family sincerely thanks Carol Duncan for her lifetime friendship. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Edgewood Christian Church in Roanoke with Rev. Brian Orahood officiating. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be sent to the Salem Animal Shelter at 1301 Indiana Street in Salem, Va. 24153.
