Linda Lee Hartman Berry

Linda Lee Hartman Berry, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A longtime resident of Richmond, Va., Linda relocated to Salem four years ago to be near her daughter, where she spent her final years surrounded by community, friendship, and the things she loved most.

Linda retired from the Virginia State Court System, where she dedicated many years to serving the citizens of Virginia. In her retirement, she joyfully embraced her many passions - gardening, knitting, reading, music, art, and travel. She had a gift for finding beauty in both the world around her and the company she kept.

Since making Salem her home, Linda became a devoted member of First United Methodist Church, where she participated in the Circle 9 Group. She also treasured her time with the ladies of her knitting group. She was known for her thoughtfulness, her creativity, and the quiet grace with which she lived her life.

Linda was preceded in death by her father, Albert James Hartman; her mother, Lillian Mae Ripley Hartman; as well as her beloved grand-dog, Louis Wellington.

She is survived by her daughter, Trever Berry, of Roanoke.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Good Samaritan and The Key for their exceptional care and compassionate support over the past eleven months.

A celebration of Linda's life will take place on Friday, April 24, 2026, at First United Methodist Church in Salem, Va. The visitation will begin at 10 a.m., and the memorial service at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Alan Combs officiating. She will be laid to rest privately at Evergreen Burial Park.
