Lillian Joan Guthrie

Lillian Joan Guthrie, 95, of Salem, VA passed away Saturday, September 3, 2011. She was born May 25, 1916 in Montgomery County, VA daughter of the late Leonard and Della Early Smith. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Jackson Guthrie; daughter, Sharon Faye Guthrie; son, Michael Lynn Guthrie; and several siblings. Mrs. Guthrie was a member of Roslyn Hills Baptist Church and retired from Kerns Bakery with fifteen years of service. She is survived her son, Gary Guthrie; grandson, Paige Guthrie; sisters, Blanche Horton and Bernice Pagans; and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 pm at John M.
