Lewis Harvey Jenkins Jr.

Lewis Harvey Jenkins, Jr., 63 of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2010. He was born on August 28, 1946 in Roanoke, VA and was the son of Violet May Jenkins and the late Lewis Harvey Jenkins, Sr. He was a beloved father, son, and brother. He also worked as a painter. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Shawn Simmons. In addition to his mother, Violet, he is survived by two daughters, Julie Paxton and husband John and Tracy Flint and husband Timothy; step-son, Kevin Simmons; sister, Rev. Gale Jenkins Goad; three grandchildren, Riley and Kailin Paxton and Nathan Jenkins; great nephew, Michael Flint; special niece, Teonte Wright; special friend, Robert Adams; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son with the Rev. Randy McDaniel officiating.
