Leta Mcelroy Mathews

Leta M. Mathews, 80, of Salem, fell asleep in the Lord on Friday, March 3, 2017. She was born in Tampa, FL, a daughter of the late Francis and Leta McElroy and had been an area resident for over thirty years. A homemaker and mother, Leta was an active member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, and enjoyed working with various charities and community services. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman S. Mathews, a son, Geoffrey Mathews, and a brother, Francis. She is survived by her son, Tim Mathews and his wife Wendy; two granddaughters, Victoria and Abigail Mathews; three brothers, Stuart, Arthur and Bruce, and two sisters, Peggy and Priscilla. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and other extended family members. A memorial service will be held at 1PM, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at St. Paul Episcopal Church, Salem. The Rev. James W.
