Leonard Dean 'Lj' Bartlett

Leonard LJ Dean Bartlett, Jr., 40, of Roanoke, passed away on November 20, 2012. He was born on February 26, 1972 in Roanoke, VA, son of the late Leonard Dean Bartlett, Sr. and Tina Jean Bartlett Shiflett. LJs sons Jordan and Logan were the light of his life and he was a caring and devoted father. LJs Yukon truck was a source of pride for him as he entered it into car shows in many states. LJ also loved to travel and was always the life of the party. Nicknamed Polo Kid, LJ enjoyed good times with friends and family in his Polo Lounge, where he also enjoyed watching the New England Patriots play football. LJ is survived by his sons, Jordan and Logan Bartlett; his mother, Tina Jean Bartlett Shiflett, brother, Anthony Fitzgerald; sister, Melisa Bartlett Broady; nieces, Kaylie Bartlett and Jada Broady; best friend, Melissa Missy Morton; and girlfriend, Linh Bui. A funeral service to honor LJs life will be conducted on Monday, November 26, 2012 at 2pm, at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home in Salem.
